Newsgroup Figures.
Total messages in the newsgroup as at 30/06/08 0849 BST,
for the month of June 2008 exceeded 1670
Not including the unwanted posts from spammer's
and fortune seeking web site owners. There were
numerous thread's in excess of 30 replies.
The total newsgroup 'traffic' was at an average of
55 messages per day.
Our figures might only be exceeded by the long established USA
orientated newsgroups rec.travel.air and alt.disasters.aviation.
Our figures for June 2008 make us the most
subscribed-to air travel newsgroup in the UK/Europe!

There are still a lot of 'readers' out there who could express their
EDI views without fear of being 'flamed.' I get lots of mail from
these people and in a mutual EDI-interest newsgroup there should be no
fear of this..
We have unfortunately been subjected to an invasion of 'agenda
changers' determined to wreck proceedings, consistently flouting
guidelines in order to bully their chosen air****t into EDI
proceedings.. Unbelievable when one considers they have their own
alt.air****ts.uk.glasgow newsgroup.? Disgraceful?, what sort of image
does it project of Glasgow worldwide.? They know not what they do.?
These attack's seem to originate from members of the illegally created
alt.air****ts.uk.glasgow - it was created without being proposed in
alt.config - true to form, it's members tried to out-vote our
guidelines
using an illegal CFV (Call for votes), - there are no CFV's in the
alt* heirarchy. Usenet neds trying to use backdoor methods to bully
others..disgraceful...
This from their own newsgroup as recently as 29th March 2005...
"Do you know what. I'm getting really fed up coming on to any of these
groups trying to have an genuine interest in the topics and all you
get is people slagging people off or everyone ganging up on one person
and slapping each other on the back for doing it.
This may well be a new concept to most people on here but what you
could do is concentrate on the topic at hand and just ignore the
person causing the problem because as far as i can see, these replies
slagging people are just about as far away from the Glasgow group
interest as the posts about Edinburgh and Prestwick.
So PLEASE can we just try and grow up a bit and stop getting at people
all the time.
