What I was referring to was Rangers v Fiorentina traffic of around
2200 offsetting the loss of Seville traffic, giving a net drop due to
football of around 14.7k. While statistically im****tant, far more
concerning to me was the drop of 26.6 on London figures (no AB, 1 less
LTN per day), albeit with a slight rise in LCY. Even LGW/LHR combined
managed to drop around 9k, which says that the missing traffic did not
simply switch to another route.
Stansted, being a London air****t, I didn't look at, but I suspect they
also had a major effect from the AB cutbacks, as they lost European
frequencies as well as the 3 domestic routes. Newcastle, as you
suggest, has also suffered from the Charter market woes, while I don't
think EZY have increased their base this Summer.
Of course things are sluggish this year, but what I would at least
like to see is GLA performing much more closely to its immediate peer
group and attracting a share of the growth that is out there. Yes,
Clive has prepared us all for negatives this year, but I hope there
aren't any bonuses being paid at BAA GLA this year, given the woeful
performance.
Just maybe, there is genuinely a big announcement to go with the
Skyhub opening in October. PLEEEEEEEEEEASE.
