Pretty poor form by BA, I would've thought these flights would have been
some of the busier ones in the day, but I guess they haven't been making
the
money they wanted (or possibly more likely the slot is required for a
long-haul which generates more cash!).
Numbers are down on Scottish flights to LHR generally, so maybe it was
likely there'd be some cuts. In the face of declining pax numbers on such
flights, they're probably quite keen to get LHR slots back and try to push
the pax onto LGW and LCY flights instead. There are plenty airlines to
LON,
so the pax can just transfer to BD or EZY instead?
As far as connecting op****tunities go, I'm not that bothered - It will
hopefully lead more people to avoid LHR and hence attract another carrier
to
fly to CDG or FRA. With thier flight leaving at 6am ish, KL will now
surely
offer the earliest connections to most destinations in Europe.
