dscopel's statement was WRT a 2-22, I believe. I have never flown a 
2-22. The three 2-33's I have flown were all easy to fly, and the two 
1-26's delightful. As you noted, a little practice goes a long way to 
erase those first white-knuckle impressions of any trainer.

It is pointless to disparage the ****ps that have safely and economically 
trained so many pilots. If one can afford to train in a K21 or a 
DG-1000, that is fine--but unless one learns some humility at the same 
time perhaps the s****t is not better served. One may encounter an 
example of any type which does not represent the type very well. When 
this happens, it may be a sign that one should seek out a different club 
or commercial operator.
