It is going on two years since I last wrote you. I have had near
blinding
cataracts for over a year. I have conpleted half of my surgery and can
see
well with my right eye. I must wait to have my left eye done. In the
latest Air/Space magazine there was a letter that explained how cataract
sugerey came to be.
A doctor discovered that British fighter pilots who had window splinters
in
their eyes had different results depending on the aircraft. Spitfire
pilots
were not harmed while Hawker pilots were blinded. The doctor
distinguished
the difference and ultlmately the plastic from the spitfire is only used
since WWII (1980) to implant eye lenses. I am now 20/40 in my right eye
and
looking forward for the same result in my left eye next month.. Being
near-blinded is very depressing. I have added 700 more pages about radar
and 2000 pictures to go with it. I am trying to make a CD.
