After lots of hunting I think I've settled on the plane I want to
build. The criteria going in are as follows:
1) FAR 103 Legal
2) Home build plans available
3) Relatively short take off and landing
4) Want the weight in airframe/wings/engine/gear not fancy fuselage so it
looks like a Sopwith Pup or a Cub.
5) Steel or aluminum construction (have more experience/skill with metal
then with wood or composite).
Tail-dragger and tractor engine a plus.
Basically I'm not looking for anything fancy, just a relatively safe,
decent performing ultralight I can build for a relatively little amount
of time and money.
The Flitplane seems to fit my requirements and budget quite well. I have
spoken with Mark Klotz who seems nice enough but I have not found much
info on it outside of <www.wingsoffreedomaviation.com> . Anyone have any
info or advice to share.
Thanks in advance for your help,
