Also look at  connection Kits and cradles that provide power
converters and cables to connect and provide 5v to the Ipaq and 5v or
12v to the GPS from your ultralight battery.
We have used these systems in gliders  for over 12 years.  Runs on HP
Ipaq 38xx, 39xx, 51xx, 54xx, 55xx, 47xx.  These ipaq are recommend as
they have larger screen size than the 22xx or 27xx series.
